Difficulties of differential diagnosis of inflammatory bowel diseases
The article discusses specificities and difficulties of differential diagnosis of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). Differential diagnosis is of decisive importance for choosing a therapeutic tactics and achieving its goals. Lesions of the large intestine in IBD in patients with persistent perianal and rectal complaints should arouse suspicion of a perianal pathology, the incidence of which might amount to 10%. Approaches to both surgical and conservative treatments of complications of IBD are associated with a low incidence of complications of ulcerative colitis and a high incidence of complications of Crohn’s disease. A search for a «gold standard» in IBD diagnosis is of primary importance, taking into account the high medical and social significance of this disease.
