Sources of objective information on the dosage regimens of antiretroviral drugs for the prevention and treatment of HIV-infection in children and adolescents registered in the Russian Federation

This article summarizes the information on antiretroviral drugs used for the treatment and prevention of HIV-infection in children and adolescents and registered in the Russian Federation according to the State Register of Medicines. The main normative documents regulating the diagnosis and treatment of HIV-infected children and adolescents in Russia are Clinical Guidelines «HIV infection in children, 2017», and «Clinical Guidelines for HIV infection: prevention of perinatal transmission of human  immunodeficiency virus, 2017». These guidelines describe evidence-based clinical practices of using antiretroviral drugs; however, they should be revised every 2 years. The aim of this article was to update clinicians on changes in dosage regimens, since this information is regularly revised according to new results of clinical trials. One should remember that information on changes in dosage regimens or age criteria for prescribing antiretroviral drugs should always be compared with the current version of the package insert, because it is a normative document and the only source of objective information. All package inserts can be found on the official website of the State Register of Medicines.
Key words: antiretroviral therapy, viral load, HIV infection, perinatal HIV transmission, post-exposure prophylaxis, ART regimen.
